Velcro Companies facilities in Manchester and Somersworth remain an active stop on the campaign trail this election season. Today, Concord’s Andru Volinsky brought his campaign for the 2nd District Executive Council seat to VC’s Somersworth facility. A first-time candidate for public office of any kind, Volinsky is vying for the hotly contested Democratic nomination for the 2nd District Council seat.

Volinsky was hosted by Velcro Americas President Scott Filion and Somersworth Plant Manager Chris Woodfall. Prior to touring the company’s 430,000+ square foot manufacturing plant, Volinsky and company officials discussed workforce development challenges and how the company remains competitive in a global marketplace. Volinsky touted his career as a successful attorney well-versed in the challenges facing manufacturers in New Hampshire. Volinsky hopes to match his desire to create more economic opportunity for Granite Staters with the ongoing workforce shortages stalling economic growth in the state.
