PHS client Velcro USA welcomed two seacoast-area state Senators to its Somersworth, NH facility today. Sen. Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth) and David Watters (D-Dover) met with company officials in their first visits to the plant and toured the massive, 430,000 square foot facility. Prior to the tour of the manufacturing areas, the two Senators gave their thoughts on the upcoming state budget negotiations and discussed ways the company can address workforce development challenges.
Both Senators were surprised with the depth and breadth of the company’s many innovative uses and applications for its hook and loop fastening technologies. As their tour was concluding, Sen. Fuller Clark remarked, “I’ll never look at Velcro (brand hook and loop) the same again!” Sen. Watters enthusiastically nodded in agreement.
