Velcro Companies’ New Hampshire facilities continue to be a popular stop for gubernatorial candidates. The company hosted campaign visits at its Manchester campus by State Sen. Jeanie Forrester (R-Meredith) on June 30th, and State Rep. Frank Edelblut on August 9th. Six of the seven major candidates for governor, including all four candidates in the GOP field, have visited the company in either Manchester or Somersworth during this campaign cycle.
Both Forrester and Edelblut met with company executives and toured parts of the manufacturing areas in Manchester with Velcro Americas president Scott Filion. The company highlighted workforce development, energy reliability and affordability, business taxes, and healthcare costs as its major challenges in New Hampshire to both candidates. Forrester and Edelblut shared with company officials their plans for addressing these concerns, and discussed other areas on which they would focus should they be elected.
