Members if the New Hampshire Senate Democratic Caucus, and Exeter Democratic State Rep. Alexis Simpson, who is running for state Senate, visited SIg Sauer’s global headquarters facility at Pease International Tradeport in Newington today. Sen. Martha Fuller-Clark, who represents Newington in Concord, invited members of her Caucus, and would-be members of her Caucus, to visit Sig’s global headquarters and manufacturing facility to learn more about one of the largest employers on the Seacoast. The Senators toured the manufacturing facility and talked with employees on the floor before a lunch meeting with CEO Ron Cohen and other company executives. The lunchtime discussion focused overwhelmingly on workforce development and the challenges manufacturers face finding skilled workers to fill the 200 open positions at Sig Sauer alone. The group also discussed Sig’s role as a trusted, non-partisan resource for lawmakers when considering legislation pertinent to firearms regulations.
