PHS Connects Two Iconic New Hampshire Brands – Velcro USA and the NH Fisher Cats

023Velcro USA brought on PHS a year ago to help them raise their public profile and help them be recognized in business, political and community circles as a leading innovation and manufacturing company in New Hampshire and New England.  Velcro USA wanted the community to know the company is a good neighbor and a great place to work.  PHS knew a partnership with Manchester’s popular New Hampshire Fisher Cats minor league baseball club – Double A Eastern League Affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays – was a great way to position the company brand in front of hundreds of thousands of fans every season. 

PHS brokered a three year partnership agreement with the company and the ballclub to make Velcro USA the presenting sponsor of the Fisher Cats Reading Challenge, a program available to every school in NH and several northern Massachusetts schools.  The program encourages kids to read 5 or more books outside of class assignments during the school year.  Every child receives a Velcro USA – Fisher Cats Reading Challenge bookmark, and kids who read 5 or more books get two free tickets to one of 5 Velcro USA Reading Challenge games.  Top performing schools are eligible to win a $5,000.00 donation.  The company will also have signage at the ballpark during all games over the duration of the partnership.

The agreement was announced in a pre-game ceremony today.  Velcro USA President Scott Filion threw out the ceremonial first pitch, flanked by company employees and their families.  Filion then spent a half inning discussing the partnership and the company’s footprint in the state and the products in designs and manufactures in New Hampshire on the Fisher Cats radio network during the bottom of the 3rd inning.
