Portsmouth, NH and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard-based Juliet Marine Systems, maker of the revolutionary GHOST surface vessel, has hired Prospect Hill Strategies to provide full service public affairs consulting and advocacy services. Juliet Marine has developed – using private funds – a surface ship capable of reaching up to 80 knots while utilizing a design and propulsion system that enables a smooth ride even in heavy seas. Naval experts see GHOST as providing the U.S. Navy and other government agencies charged with maritime missions with a relatively inexpensive small tactical surface ship capable of fulfilling several critical missions. There are also many possible commercial applications.
GHOST is housed in a leased building at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where all testing and maintenance activities are conducted. With initial orders, the company would add hundreds of employees at the shipyard and the former Great Bay Community College campus in Stratham, NH, which the company has under contract to purchase from the state.
PHS will provide media relations, public relations, and government relations to Juliet Marine as it seeks to secure funding to finish development and testing of its prototype and begin production.
